Where the arrival date changes the price most 105 cities, measured

For every city we track, we record what a night costs for a seven-night stay, arriving on each of the dates we measure. Same city, same length of stay — only the date changes. The gap below is what that date is worth. In Abu Dhabi it is 71%; in Johannesburg, 11%.

How to read this

Each figure is a measured median: first the median price within a hotel, then the median across hotels, so a property with twenty room types does not outvote one with a single room. A city appears only when at least 12 of its arrival dates were measured across enough hotels for the median to be stable.

We measure Saturday arrivals, and we do not measure January or most of February — so this is a season we observed, not a full calendar year. A small gap does not mean a city is cheap; it means the date matters little there. 29 of these cities have a page of their own with every arrival date we measured.
