  top floor room facing the street you need earplugs in order to sleep

  − The room we stayed in was loud and I had to ask for an extra cushion because it just wasn't comfortable.

  I felt right at home and will book again the next time I visit Kyoto.

  + I stayed at Guest House Aoi Nakamot while participating in a conference at RIMS of Kyoto University. The location was perfect. Nakamoto-San takes excellent care of his guesthouse and his guests. He was very forthcoming and helpful throughout, for example when I needed help with the Takkyubin suitcase mailing system. It was my first time staying in a classic tatami room and I highly recommend the experience!

  Friendly host, comfortable, quiet, clean and well located

  + Very nice, quiet and well located, the host is super accommodating and friendly. I stayed in a single room and it was so calm and quiet I rested super well. I came in the winter, which is pretty cold in Kyoto, and the room and the whole place was nice and warm. There’s a kitchen with a fridge a microwave and kettle and a table to eat. It has a nice bathroom with a japanese style bathtub and two other rest rooms. I will definitely come back next time I’m visiting, totally recommend! :)

  + This is a very nice and clean accommodation! I stayed just one person for 3 nights. Owner is friendly, helpful, and kind! Close to major bus routes. Shower and bathroom were clean and easily accessible. Great guest house, i enjoyed my stay!

  + This was my second stay in one year and I chose it because of its proximity to The Philosophers Walk as well as being located in a residential community, though quite close to a major temple as well as quieter and lovely ones. There are only 4 rooms; this is a typical lodging house - shared bath and kitchen. Proprietor Nakamoto is very helpful !!!
