  A very pleasant stay

  + We just finished our stay at the Nob Hill Hotel in San Francisco, and I have to say, it was a much better experience than I initially expected. Having read some of the reviews beforehand, I was apprehensive about staying here, particularly regarding the location, but those concerns proved to be largely unfounded. We stayed in a Deluxe King Room, which was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Housekeeping did a very good job throughout our stay, and the room was clearly well looked after. The hotel is situated in Lower Nob Hill, relatively close to the Tenderloin area. Some reviews make the surrounding area sound particularly unsafe, which I feel is an exaggeration. Like any major city, San Francisco has areas that are better than others, and it is sensible to plan your routes and be mindful of your surroundings, particularly at night. However, this is true of many cities, and we found the hotel itself to be well maintained and well positioned for exploring San Francisco. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at the Nob Hill Hotel. It was clean, comfortable and well looked after, and I would encourage anyone considering staying here not to be put off by some of the more negative reviews about the location.

  + We liked how spacious it was and how we had our own table to eat at.

  − When we first arrived, our check in time was at 3PM. When we tried to check in they needed 20 more minutes to clean. We took that opportunity to look for their parking structure. We had asked where it was and instead of giving us a response on where we could go to park, front desked asked if we wanted to do valet. We originally had said no and he ignored us after that so we decided to go looking on our own. Once we have failed I decided to call the front desk and after refusing valet a couple more times we decided to agree since it felt like we were being pressured to get it. Do not recommend getting it since it was $60 a night. We did not touch our vehicle until the end of our trip. Once we were able to check in it was already 3:20ish. We went up to our room and they have not started cleaning our room so we had to wait another 20 minutes. Once we were able to go in, I went ahead and checked the room out and tried out the shower and tub. Both were still dirty and the shower drain was not working. We essentially had a second tub. The actual tub on the other hand, was clean and the jets were broken so we couldn't change how strong it was. We brought this up to front desk, and they told us to bring it up to the morning shift. We let the morning shift know of the issues, the maintenance person came in fixed the shower but the cleaning ladies did not clean the tub or shower. The cleaning they do is replacing the towels and making your bed. We also had issues with the phone, turns out there is no line connected to the phone so you can't call front desk. He said he would try to fix it, we went the whole trip (5 days) without a functioning phone. Aside from the room issues, the booking came with breakfast included. This breakfast was only cereal and if you were lucky enough to wake up early a muffin. We were let down with the breakfast since we spent a lot of money for the place and valet we were expecting actual breakfast like simple eggs. Nothing much.
